One Year Since Walk Across Borders

A year ago, we set off on a 44 day walk (approx 1750km) between Orihuela, Spain and London, UK..
http://walkacrossborders.blogspot.com.es/…/day-1-orihuela-t…

Our objectives were to:
  1. raise awareness of the issues surrounding parental child abduction and the impact on families and children
  2. raise awareness of parental alienation abuse and the impact on families and children
  3. raise awareness of the failures in family court and with authorities that sometimes appear to facilitate abduction, alienation and false allegations which can be used as a heinous alienation tactic.
  4.  help the Reunite International UK charity who NEED the additional resources to effectively support families who are involved in international children's cases.. Over 17,000 calls were managed by their advice line in 2014.
We had such wonderful support from so many people on this journey from which we were so grateful.

We also met some amazing people en route that provided an experience that we will never forget...

There were also some very testing moments too but we took those in our stride (excuse the pun) and completed the journey at the Royal Courts of Justice on 5th October, 2015.

You can read about out journey by clicking on the link below and navigating the blog entries...
I hope we achieved some of what we set out to achieve. I was pleased that my mother was able to see us complete this before she sadly passed away in November...

She was so proud and fully supported the reasons why we decided to do this.. Tragically, she never had the opportunity to reunite with her granddaughter who she loved wholeheartedly until her last breath... It still does not seem real that she is no longer with us.. She was my rock... For such a small lady, she had so much courage and strength.. She is missed so much :(..xxx

Hopefully, we can continue to do as much as we can to try to make a difference... a positive difference... and just maybe enough awareness will be raised to prompt some change...
Doing nothing achieves nothing...
Nobody can do everything; but everybody can do something...
One more day closer xxxx

STAR THE NEW VIDEOCLIP OF SHANI!!!!

STAR THE NEW VIDEOCLIP OF SHANI!!!!

Shani Ormiston has launched her new single " I Am to Fighter ". She is preparing her own videoclip and is having a casting open to all those people who would like to tell their own story. She is looking for authentic fighters who have overcome, or are fighting for something, an infirmity or a problem or obstacle in their life – of whatever age, nationality, race or religion, those who are survivors and wish to tell their story to the world.

So if you have a story to tell, or know of someone who is a fighter of an illness or other problem: if you are a survivor, then send an email to contacto@shaniormiston.com recounting your history briefly and attaching a recent photography.

This offer is open until January 22nd when the production team will choose those who will participate in Shani Ormiston's new pop video.

Music can be a really powerful media. Shani is a good friend of mine and she supports the reunite international charity as well as helping to raise awareness of parental child abduction and alienation

Merry Christmas

Wishing everybody a happy & wonderful Christmas.

For those who are parents affected by parental child abduction or alienation and are not able to see their children, my heart goes out to you and empathise with the hurt that you will undoubtedly be feeling.

Please stay strong and try to enjoy the season as much as possible with the people around you who, in many cases, share your frustration with the system and really do care about you and your child(ren)!!

If you have your children with you this year, treasure every single moment with them. They will never be this age again.. You are very blessed..xx

Thank you to everybody that have stayed the distance, inspired me and helped me to stay focused and positive when inside I my heart has been shredded. Even more so with the sudden passing of my mother recently.. . For such a small lady, she had a huge heart and such great courage.. A true inspiration. She is missed so much.

I really can't put into words how much I appreciate all that have given so much love and support.
Love and best wishes!!! One Day Closer!! xx

Next June I will be taking a leap out of an aircraft as another fund raising event to support Reunite International Child Abduction Centre .

This is something that my mother Doreen Dalton always wished to do but unfortunately, due to health issues, was not given permission by her GP to do so. I will be doing this in her memory

If you would like to participate with me for this event, please let me know so I can get the forms sent out to you. email: onedaycloser.reunite@gmail.com

Thank you - Mom's funeral

Thank you to St James' Church, Barrow, Father Jack-Knill-Jones, Little & Caine Limited, all our family & friends who came to Mom's service and for all of the lovely messages from friends who could not be here today. Really means so much all xxx

She was a loving caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose life centred around her family. An amazing lady who will be missed by many.

She gave her wholehearted support for the work of the Reunite International Child Abduction Centre charity who have been wonderful emotional support for my family. https://www.justgiving.com/Doreen-Dalton-reunite

She was also a supporter of the Furness Cancer Nurses Fund (Macmillan Nurses) https://www.justgiving.com/Doreen-Dalton-mcmillan for which she completed 3 bungie jumps and a firewalk in the decade prior to her passing.. (yes... really)

Donations can be made in her memory on the links above
